went to NYC to see amy again for thankgiving break. catch a ride with yanni and crash at amy's. i would say it's cheap, but NYC just is a bottomless pit for cash. oh well, only live once. diana and sabby came out. boy did we tear up the town!
notables of the weekend (in no particular order of course):
-10 hour commute to NYC (ugh) and yanni and i didn't kill eachother
-chilled at home with amy the first weekend and finished some schoolwork, even on a saturday nite!
-last dinner with karen "time to flip!" before she moved to hawaii, also rita and friends
-burger and fries at the Shake Shack just BEFORE dinner! hahahah.....
-dinner with don (hedge fund guy), waiming, and amy at a sushi place that we all were conveniently close by
-hanging out with rita on 5th ave
-dinner at that triangle shaped building with sabby, amy and susan, forgot the name. awesome filet.
-more shopping with sab
-drinks at hotel gansevoort
-clubbing at PM (walked right into the club. HA!)
-cooking a thanksgiving dinner (turkey with rosemary and shallots) and eating with 9 friends, mine and amy's. awesome cooking by all along with many bottles of wine.
-seeing oakenfold on thanksgiving evening at crobar - awesome!
-cider at a speak easy (chumley's) and mediterranean pizza's at Moustache
-hanging with cousin bernard as our diana replacement a la sex and the city
-hot chocolate at a chocolate shop (we hit one on soho and one in midtown - "chocolate bla bla bla" is it's real name)
-cream puffs at a place on 48th and 1st
-late nite korean food at kunjip TWICE!!
-van gogh's drawings at the Met
-russian exhibit at the Gugenheim - hooray for citibank employees along for 4 guests getting into museums for free
-taiwanese breakfast (sou bing and yuo tieu) in flushing - man it's farrrrrrrrr.....
-gyro's at the cart on 6th and 53rd - it's all in the sauce. the line was 1 hr long for CART food!!!
-dinner and a movie (shopgirl) with my bed buddy amy as the best clincher for thanksgiving break
i wish i could have met up with auntie pauline. i figured that the family was probably in the washington DC house rather than the NYC place. i missed my family. so sad they only ate porridge with preserved egg and pork for thanksgiving! well, my mom's porridge is rather good....
i'm very thankful for my family, my health and my friends. :)
it was so nice to hang with the girls (and bernard) in NYC. wether it be chatting in a small coffee shop or partying in a happening club. it's amazing when friends can feel like home. close friendships are rare and hard to come by. i cherish every one. funny thing is, we had such a long and exhaustive list of events over the course of the week. however, i would have been just as happy if we hadn't don't any of them and had just hung out and chatted all week at someone's house. not that it wasn't fun, but the best part was the people i was with, not the thing i was doing. none of those things would have been fun without my friends. although many thanks to gracious hostess amy for providing all the options!! cuz hey, i'm not exactly a homebody all the time. haha... i miss you guys!
