I sat at Ilgar's table. He pretty much has been running the school for more than 30 years. Although the Dean institutes changes, the Deputy Dean seems run a large part of the show. I'm very glad i got to speak with him at the table...and even better, he said we could go into his office any time to speak with him about anything. I'm definitely gonna take him up on that. Another amazing speaker was the guest speaker we had. she was the youngest partner ever at McKinsey, made partner at 29. Very inspiring to see that someone so young and down to earth made it so big. :) The next time we will be at a dinner like this will be when we graduate. :)

The Big Apple

I went to visit my friend amy in NYC last weekend. Teddio also flew out to meet us. Left on thursday for what was a long and hilarious car ride from pittsburgh to NY. I don't even know what we were talking about but my stomach hurt from laughing so much. it's been a LONG time since i've had so much fun on a road trip.

notable things that happened over the weekend:
talked with amy until 3 am even though she had work the next day
went to the meat packing district for some shi shi food and hung out at the trendy Spice Market
ate late night korean food.....mmmmm....
went to a BBQ at an AWESOME apt complex in jersey city overlooking the hudson river and the manhattan skyline
watched Garden State (GO WATCH IT!!!)
went to listen to live brazillian jazz for the first time (LOVE IT)
saw old loveboat friends (susan, ray)
had lunch with teddio and amy at the great SOUP-BURG. (that's what it said on the outside. it was really just an old diner...but good food and even better company)
the tiny ass pillow on the car ride back (hahaha...only tiny and yanni boy know about that one)

this was a really really great weekend. i was SO happy to hang with my old friends amy and teddio. and then i also got to know new ones that i'm sure will become life long friends.

first day of classes started on monday...8:30AM...FRICK! that was the hardest day of classes i think i've ever had my entire life. so tired from the weekend and not enuf sleep. not to mention all my classes seem like they are incredibly difficult. however i had one class today that was just awesome. management. i'm really looking forward to that class. :)

BSCHOOL ROCKS! each day i get more and more excited about the things i'm going to learn. excited and scared because i know it will be really difficult. carnegie's program is one of the most difficult of all programs. whatever doesn't kill me only makes me stronger....
