Cozumel
belated vacation post. we had to go to cozumel for a wedding so we turned it into a vacation. much needed since we've been so busy with hunny working and studying and me being busy with the shop.
we stayed at the wyndham hotel. i loved the white contemporary look and feel of the place. however the food was lacking and our room smelled of B.O. so...i give it three stars out of 5. liked the pool and the beach though.

we're smiling as we're being eaten alive by mosquitos. literally, in the 30 minutes from the grass to the dinner, i got bitten at least 30 times. i had 20 bites on my legs alone.

we made the rookie mistake of being suckered into a timeshare presentation. the airport people asked us if we needed a cab, we said yes, and he sends us to some travel coordination person. so we thought... hrm kinda weird we have to go to someone to get a cab. she then proceeds to tell us she's with the airport and is helping mexico to get more tourists to see the cancun side. so she can offer us discounted rates. we wanted to go see tolum and play with some dolphins. so we thought, sure, why not! and she gave it to us for 70 bux also! good deal right? wrong! we ended up talking with various sales people from 10 until 4 and wasted a whole day. just when they would say they were going to let us go, we hear another sales pitch. tolum was closed and we didn't even make it to the dolphins the next day because we were busy checking out the rest of the island. oh well. we got cash, a free car rental and ended up getting a small 5 year timeshare which also came with a free cruise. the timeshare looked pretty nice...

That fish looks like a dogface puffer. Inedible as far as I know. He'll be even bigger if he feels threatened and bloats up.
awww ok. no eating and just looking then. :)
