yes the bombings happened in bangkok when we were still there. we played it safe and headed to our hotel for the night as soon as we heard the news. the bombs were about 40 blocks away, we were at a hotel in soi 2 while the bombings were in the soi 40's.

i'm jetlagged so i'll just post a few pics for now. more to come later...

Glad you were OK. Was it pretty crazy after the bombings?

well as we were grabbing a fast dinner before heading back to the hotel, a car backfired outside and all the waiters and waitresses ran to the windows to see what happened. you could see people were a little freaked out. i suppose we should have freaked out more. since we didn't actually see or hear anything until my friend called me, we figured the activity was really far away. but better to be safe than sorry so we still headed back to the hotel. however i noticed quite a few party goers wander in the hotel the following morning - guess they didn't care and still wanted to party.
