fitness resolution

i'm going to cut out drinking sodas (i didn't before working, but started to since there are free sodas in the fridge) and juices and stick to water and tea, i'm also going to work out at least four days a week and really watch my portions.

saturday i went gymming for about 45 min cardio, burned about 500 something calories then did some abs and arms. sunday i did 30 min high intensity cardio then did lower body.

i really want to get back into the same shape i was in the summer if not better. i was starting to see some defined abs! ugh. of course having all the time in the world to work out since i wasn't working fulltime helped. hehe.

i've already lost the 5 pounds of vacation weight, although i'm sure most of it was water weight. it would be nice if i could trim off 10 pounds. even better if i can trim off 15. if anything, i need the extra energy. not working out as much seriously makes me feel drained!

want to be able to actually RUN the 1/2 marathon this year rather than just train for it. haha.

where's the 1/2 marathon gonna be? I wanna do another one, but not deal with the disneyland crowd of last year.

actually there is the bay to breakers 12K that i'm planning on running. although it's prolly kinda crowded just like disney. only you see naked people. some good, some not so good. haha.

i was planning on doing the san jose rock and roll again. i'll look for something earlier though

I never considered this before (cuz I'm inexperienced), but a fall race sucks cuz you have to train thru summer weather! Ick!

Quitting the soda should help out, along with some more exercise and switching to less red meat.

Bay to Breakers is a fun event. Even though I don't run it because

A. It's long!
B. It's uphill!
C. The main crowd is huge, there isn't room to run unless you're up at the front.

Oh, and the only naked people I ever saw was old ugly fat guys.

cindy - actually i liked training in summer because the days are long and i could go running at 7 in the evening. of course it's generally cooler in norcal than it is in socal

james - true there are a lotta ugly naked people to look at. maybe the hope of seeing a good looking naked person will make you run faster? or make you run away from the old ugly fat guys. haha

can't stay away from red meat, i love my steaks. in fact i had filet cubes yesterday and will eat at alexanders this weekend for steaks. mmmmmm......

Actually, lean red meat has only a few more grams of fat than in the same size serving of chicken. LEAN red meat, not fast food hamburgers or eating the fatty parts of prime rib. If you can't stay away from those, you may want to follow James's advice. :)

cindy - I think it's all the cholesterol in red meat that's supposed to be bad for you.

melsybo - Actually, seeing a fat ugly naked man's ass with a Jack (from jack in the box) head on constantly throughout the run definitely did make me run faster.
