redemption

ok so how was i supposed to know that redemption was not the "trend" in term sheets anymore??!! so we had the VCIC competition this weekend. our team gave it a great try and came in 3rd. MIT took 1st and Harvard took second. I do have to say that MIT gave a great term sheet and performed very well. however, i feel like we were robbed by harvard. we shoulda gotten second place! arg.... that's ok. it was a great experience, we learned a whole lot, got to know some great people, and will do better next year. given the circumstances, we had nobody with VC experience so we did really well. other teams were heavier in the VC experience. oh well, that's how things go. we will do better next year i'm sure of it.

so wanna hear about the interesting people i had on my team? we had a guy from rice university who used to handle patents in nanotechnology. we also had an isreali sergeant who used to command over 1000 tanks. next is a guy who was a mechanical engineer who lived in japan and speak fluent japanese. he wants to start his own company. lastly is an ibanker who did private equity investments. talk about diverse huh? then there was me, biotech-recruiter gal who volunteers for asian american nonprofit groups. hahaha....

saw my cousin bernard this weekend too so that was kool to hang with him and his friends. man MIT people sure do party a lot. i don't think i see cmu people drink as many shots as they do. hahahaa.....boston was way kool though. very trendy and nice. we hung out on newbury street to eat at this asian fusion restaurant. oh man i miss fine dining. there isn't too much of that here in pitts. well you could find places but it's not as nice and the food is not as good.

anyways...i'm a lil' tipsy rite now from a networking event i just got back from. drinking wine on an empty stomach is not a good idea. but how could i resist a good syrah? it was a great event, i think the students that went really enjoyed it. :) hooray!
